“…The average age of the top 25 selling candies in the U.S., based on retail sales data from Information Resources Inc. (IRI), is 50 years. Favorite chocolate bars date back even further. Only two—Twix and Dove—were introduced after World War II, with the original Hershey (HSY) bar going back to 1900.”

Når man taler om fremtidsstudier og holdninger til det næste nye, så er det altid spændende at se hvad man sagde i fortiden om nutiden. Prøv at læse denne interessante artikel fra Business Week posted 30. juni 1975.

Det er ikke altid teknologien der skal udvikles, men især menneskers vaner og holdninger.

Her en lille snas – husk det er fra 1975:

“Will the office change all that much? Listen to George E. Pake, who heads Xerox Corp.’s Palo Alto (Calif.) Research Center, a new think tank already having a significant impact on the copier giant’s strategies for going after the office systems market: “There is absolutely no question that there will be a revolution in the office over the next 20 years. What we are doing will change the office like the jet plane revolutionized travel and the way that TV has altered family life.”

Pake says that in 1995 his office will be completely different; there will be a TV-display terminal with keyboard sitting on his desk. “I’ll be able to call up documents from my files on the screen, or by pressing a button,” he says. “I can get my mail or any messages. I don’t know how much hard copy [printed paper] I’ll want in this world.”

‘You’ve got to find what you love,’ Jobs says

This is the text of the Commencement address by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, delivered on June 12, 2005.

I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I’ve ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That’s it. No big deal. Just three stories.

The first story is about connecting the dots.

I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out?

It started before I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption.
